Have you heard of the “Iceberg Illusion”? It’s when people on the outside only see what’s above water (i.e. “the success”), but can’t see what’s below the surface (aka the hard work, the long hours, the dedication). Hello, I’m Megan! I grew up hand-making greeting cards and designing t-shirts for school functions. Needless to say, I’ve known for a very long time that I wanted to be a graphic designer. After attending Michigan State University for Advertising Design, I moved to Chicago for an unpaid internship at an ad agency on Michigan Avenue. Sleeping on a couch and working a paying stockroom shift before interning, I have always had a strong hustle and drive. Fast forward 7 years and I had worked my way up to Senior Art Director, (yes, now paid). I also found my love for travel, and was always looking forward to my next adventure. One day my 15 vacation days and office with a view just wasn’t as appealing, anymore. Enter: The Adventure Agency.
I began to feel that same hustle that I had when I moved to Chicago ignite inside, and I just knew in my bones I was meant for more.
A few quick facts about me: I’ve asked my husband to add the island of Montserrat to our travel list because it’s one of my favorite fonts. When I look at that image of the gray or pink shoe, I see both, depending on the time of day. My family has looked at my Pinterest page to find Christmas gift inspo, but all they found were fonts. Design is my passion, and I am extremely lucky to be able to do what I love for a living!
