Good packaging design is crucial, especially for brands with a shelf presence at some of the top retailers. Your package is competing with a whole shelf of other products, and in order to increase your profits, you need to catch the shopper’s eye immediately. In fact, 70% of consumers form their impression of a brand based solely on packaging, and 52% say that they are willing to pay a little extra for products if they like the packaging. Your competition is investing in their packaging – don’t miss out on the opportunity for increased profits by having high-end package design!
Powell & Mahoney Craft Cocktail Mixers
Powell & Mahoney has a retail presence with both 750mL and 375mL glass bottles. You’ll find them on the shelves at your local Walmart and Target, as well as other local stores. When they made the move into food service, they needed to change their packaging format to best service the industry. The carton is shelf-stable, recyclable and helps with storage issues, because the shape allows for easy stacking. With a new packaging format, they required a new label design that aligned with their retail presence. This label mimics the others in their line, while keeping the information relevant to the food service pack size. This is the second label refresh of these carton labels.
FruitBlendz Purees are a line of thickened puree products that fill the need for people with swallowing disorders. They require thickened foods and beverages to aid with swallowing so that they don’t choke. Previously there were no regulations surrounding the preparation of thickened foods, which, as you can imagine is extremely unsafe. In 2019, a group formed regulations called IDDSI, the International Dysphagia Diet Standardization Initiative. With this initiative came a new set of classifications, which now need to be mentioned on the label. With this change, and the 2020 Nutritional Facts Panel update, FruitBlendz underwent an entire rebrand, bringing that feeling of “home” and mixing it with a scientific feel. They want their consumers to trust that their product is safe, while also giving them feeling of a homemade puree.

Space Saver won the Best Beverage Package of 2013 by Beverage Industry Magazine!
